National Holidays Move to Friday

I know, everyone loves their Friday at work, but people, learn to love your Thursdays! (And be okay with going back to work Monday).

Because we cannot be other parts of the world (except China as notted later) and give ourselves a decent amount of time off, than we have to be a little more focused on our weekend and holidays.

As stated, we are not COMPLETELY alone in this battle. Reforms have been sweeping through China to curb their usual week long celebrations and turning them into some truncated version that appears more like one of our pitiful excuses for a holiday.

Back to the point....Fridays my friends, the new holiday Monday.

The inspiration came from the recent three day weekend (no not the one where I called in sick the week before to make it my own holiday). Fourth of July being on a Friday allowed me to look at the holiday weekend a bit different. I put everything I had into a fiery bbq on Friday, while still running a few errands in the morning. I know I would have been more cautious if it were Monday, having to go back to work and all. Not this time, caution hit the wind at maximum velocity and I was on my way to having one of the best weekends in a long while. Why? Because after the holiday was technically over, I had a Saturday to look forward to, not a long drive home after a long firework show, after I ate too much, feeling drowsy and regretting that I have to be in Tuesday morning. I mean, yeah it is short work week, but that isn't helping me....what is helping me now is still having Sunday to recover.

So what do you think? Time for CHANGE? Friday Memorial day? Friday Labor Day?
